MIRAI HANA Workshop on Sun, May 3, 2026

We are excited to announce the 19th MIRAI HANA workshop! All participants, please review the following details carefully.

📅 Date & Venue

  • Date: Sunday, May 3, 2026

  • Check‑in Time: 9:10 AM – 9:30 AM

  • Workshop Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM

  • Pick-up Time: 11:20 AM – 11:35 AM

  • Venue: Waikīkī Aquarium (2777 Kalākaua Ave, Honolulu, HI 96815)

    The meeting location is in front of the door next to the Aquarium entrance.
    Please refer to the photo for details.

✅ What to Bring & Important Notes

  • Please bring a water bottle for your child.

  • Whenever possible, have your child use the restroom before the workshop begins.

  • If someone other than the person listed on the registration form will be picking up your child, please let us know at check-in.

  • This workshop is a drop-off program.Parents are kindly asked to drop off and pick up their child at the scheduled times.

  • Some portions of the workshop will take place in a special room and limited behind-the-scenes areas.

    Parents may enter the Aquarium as regular visitors (admission required) and observe portions of the workshop where accessible.

  • 🅿️ Parking

    Parking is available via metered street parking along the park side of Kalākaua Ave. A very limited number of free parking stalls are also available in front of the Waikīkī Aquarium entrance.

📋 Schedule (subject to slight changes on the day)

  • 9:30 – 9:35 | Opening & Welcome

  • 9:35 – 9:45 | Learn about Waikīkī Aquarium & Aquarist Roles

  • 9:45 – 10:25 | Workshop 1: Morning Duties of an Aquarist

  • 10:25 – 10:55 | Workshop 2: Junior Aquarist Mission

  • 10:55 – 11:15 | Special Session: Hawaiian Monk Seal

  • 11:15 – 11:30 | Closing, Reflection & Group Photo

    📌 Pick-up Time: Please pick up your child between 11:20 and 11:35 AM.

📷 Data Sharing

Photos taken during the workshop will be shared within 3 days after the workshop.

Photo data will be sent to the email address provided at the time of registration via a Google Drive album.

This applies only to families who selected “Yes” for photo and video media usage on the registration form.

✅ 持ち物と注意事項

  • 水筒をご持参ください。

  • できる限り事前にお手洗いを済ませてからご参加ください。

  • 申込フォームに記載された方以外がお迎えに来られる場合は、受付時に必ずお知らせください。

  • 本ワークショップはドロップオフ制です。基本的に保護者の方は送迎のみをお願いいたします。

    なお、保護者の方が一般来館者としてご入館された場合（別途入館料が必要）、見学可能なエリアに限り一部のプログラムをご覧いただけます。

    一部のプログラムは特別な部屋やバックヤードエリアで実施されるため、見学いただけない場合があります。

  • 駐車について
    駐車場は、カラカウア通りの公園側にある有料ストリートパーキングをご利用いただけます。ワイキキ水族館入口前には無料駐車スペースもございますが、台数に限りがあります。

  • 9:30 – 9:35｜オープニング

  • 9:35 – 9:45｜ワイキキ水族館＆アクアリストの仕事紹介

  • 9:45 – 10:25｜ワークショップ①：アクアリストの朝の仕事

  • 10:25 – 10:55｜ワークショップ②：ジュニア・アクアリストミッション

  • 10:55 – 11:15｜特別セッション：ハワイアンモンクシール

  • 11:15 – 11:30｜ふりかえり・クロージング・集合写真

    📌 お迎え時間：11:20〜11:35の間にお迎えをお願いいたします。

📷 データ共有について

ワークショップ中の写真は終了後3日以内に、申込時のメールアドレスへ写真データを送付します。申込フォームでメディア使用「可」とされた方が対象です。（Googleドライブのアルバムで共有予定です）
